Domestic Abuse Community Support Worker (Female Applicants Only)
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £24,480 – £25,112 per annum (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Rotational shifts including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.

Purpose and Scope of the Job:
As a Domestic Abuse Community Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support and interventions to individuals affected by domestic abuse. Your primary responsibility will be to empower and assist clients throughout their journey with the charity, regardless of risk. You will work collaboratively with a team to deliver high-quality, safe, and effective domestic abuse support services.
Key Responsibilities:
·Provide support and interventions to individuals affected by domestic abuse.
·Work proactively to recognize and implement solution-focused actions to eradicate domestic abuse from families’ lives.
·Collaborate with the team to deliver specialist, high-quality support services.
·Take referrals and offer immediate support, advice, and assessments to clients.
·Welcome families into refuge and complete relevant paperwork.
·Ensure the smooth running of the service, including providing cover for absent colleagues.
·Engage in whole family work to create a supportive family journey through the service.
Requirements:
·Female applicants only (as per Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010).
·Commitment to maintaining a violence-free lifestyle.
·Driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
·Experience in providing support to individuals affected by domestic abuse is desirable.
